Why we’re supporting St Nicholas Hospice: a local cause close to our hearts

This year, we are proud to continue our ongoing partnership with St Nicholas Hospice, a remarkable organisation making a meaningful and caring impact on the lives of individuals and families facing challenging times.
A legacy of care
St Nicholas Hospice provides essential care and support to those affected by life-limiting illnesses across West Suffolk and Thetford. Their mission is not just about medical care, but also about emotional, spiritual and practical support for patients and their loved ones.
This holistic approach deeply resonates with us, it’s about people, compassion and connection more than anything else.
Why this cause?
When considering which local charity to support, St Nicholas Hospice stood out for several reasons.
Firstly, many of our team members, colleagues and clients have personal connections to the hospice, either through family, friends or their own experiences. The stories of kindness, dignity, and respect shown by the hospice staff in difficult moments touched us all.
Secondly, the hospice is a cornerstone of our community. It’s a place where families find solace, where people receive not just care but also hope. By supporting St Nicholas Hospice, we’re hoping to contribute to something that benefits so many in and around Bury, creating a ripple effect of support.
Helping to make a difference
The hospice requires a significant sum of money to operate on a weekly basis, and the majority of this comes from fundraising.
Our team has been fantastic, with a year-round fundraising initiative to support the hospice’s incredible work. From charity bake sales and fun runs, to payroll giving and sponsorship of the Christmas Trees in Bury, Sudbury and Haverhill, we’re also encouraging our clients and local businesses to join us in this effort, showing how small actions can lead to significant impact.
