Job Retention Scheme Extensions

The COVID-19 Job Retention Scheme has been extended to the 30th June 2020 giving businesses an extra month to continue to employ employee’s who are furloughed and reclaim 80% of their wages from the government.

HMRC have also revised some key dates for eligibility to the scheme, previously an employee had to have been on the payroll and paid before the 28th February 2020 but this has now been changed to before the 19th March 2020 which should help some businesses retain new starters.

There is an ongoing process of clarification of eligible employee’s and how to deal with special requests which are being updated here on the HMRC website:

HMRC Job Retention Reclaim portal is now live

The HMRC job retention reclaim portal went live at 7:00am Monday 20th April 2020, you can access this portal via your Government Gateway account if you are preparing your own return, or if you require us to prepare your reclaim for you please get in touch with us on and we will be able to process this as a chargeable service.

Please note if you would like us to complete this for you we would urge you to get in touch as soon as possible so that we can process your claim promptly.

We note that there are many niche cases where there may be queries on how to process the scheme etc and are working to help our clients with these, where you wish to process the claim yourself we would direct you to the HMRC website for more information as we are only able to work through claims we are processing for clients at this time.
