FWD Accounts is a forward-thinking, technology led accountancy practice based in Bury St Edmunds. The future of accountancy is changing, and we are striving to be at the forefront of that change.

We are undergoing a period of rapid growth and are looking to expand our team with an additional Portfolio Manager to provide excellent advisory services to both existing and new clients.

This is not a compliance only role. We are looking for someone who enjoys impressing clients, building relationships and using technology to improve how things are done.

The Role

Portfolio Managers at FWD cover all aspects of client jobs from start to finish with autonomy to manage their workflow but also be supported by the wider team where needed.

We prioritise strong relationships with clients, building trust and giving commercial advice. As part of a wider team you will be supported in maintaining and eventually building your own portfolio of clients through networking and marketing initiatives as we move towards the next stage of our business.

Duties (include but are not limited to):

  • Managing the accounts for a portfolio of clients
  • Preparing limited company accounts (FRS 105 / FRS 102S1a)
  • Providing management accounts / reports for clients on an ad hoc basis
  • Completing company and personal tax returns for clients
  • Conduct annual pre and post review meetings with clients where required
  • Completing / submitting VAT returns
  • Building effective, transparent working relationships with clients
  • Providing ongoing support and advice to clients, to go the extra mile
  • Seek ways to develop personally and innovate within the business
  • Supporting Managing Director with ad hoc duties

Person Specification:

  • AAT Level 4 qualified (or ACCA part qualified) essential
  • Experience working within an accountancy practice essential
  • Customer facing experience essential
  • Cloud bookkeeping software experience essential (XERO / FreeAgent for example)
  • Ability to manage workflow independently but work as part of a wider team when needed.
