FWD Accounts achieves Xero Gold Partner status

We’re pleased to announce that FWD Accounts has achieved Xero Gold Partner status, and it’s an accreditation we’ve worked deliberately to reach.
It might sound like an internal milestone. But for our clients, it’s worth understanding what it actually means.
How the Xero Partner Programme works
Xero’s partner programme runs across five levels: Partner, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Status is determined by a points system that reflects the number of client files a partner manages through Xero, weighted according to complexity — so a full business edition with payroll carries more weight than a basic ledger file.
The higher the status level, the more experience a firm has with the platform, the better the service they can offer, and the more qualified advice they can provide. It’s a structured way for businesses to identify accounting partners who genuinely know the software — not just firms that have signed up and left it at that.
Gold Partners must have at least one staff member with a Xero Advisor certification, and the level of client activity on the platform has to demonstrate real, sustained engagement — not just occasional use.
Why we pushed for it
Xero is one of the cloud accounting platforms we recommend most regularly to owner-managed businesses in Suffolk. It’s well-suited to the kinds of businesses we work with: clear enough to use without an accounting qualification, flexible enough to scale, and connected to the integrations that reduce admin and improve visibility.
But recommending software and knowing software aren’t the same thing. If we’re going to advise clients on how to get the best from Xero — how to set it up properly, which integrations to use, how to build a reporting view that actually means something — we need to be operating at a level where that advice carries weight.
Gold status reflects that. It’s evidence of the depth and breadth of our Xero work across the client base, not a badge we applied for on a quiet afternoon.
What it means in practice
For existing clients using Xero, it means you’re being supported by a team that Xero itself recognises as operating at a high level. For businesses considering a move to cloud accounting, it means we can guide that process with confidence — from choosing the right setup, to connecting the right tools, to building the habits that keep it running cleanly month to month.
It also means we have a closer relationship with the Xero team directly. That matters when questions arise, when new features are released, and when Making Tax Digital brings further changes to how businesses need to manage and submit financial data.
“Xero is genuinely central to how we work with a lot of our clients — and how they run their businesses day to day. Gold Partner status isn’t something that lands in your inbox; you have to earn it through real, consistent work on the platform. I’m proud of what the team has put in to get here, and it gives us a strong foundation for everything we’re building next.”

The bigger picture
Cloud accounting done properly reduces friction, speeds up reporting, and gives directors a clearer view of how their business is performing. Achieving Gold Partner status is part of how we make sure we’re delivering that — not just in theory, but in practice.
If you’re a business in growth, or are currently using Xero and not getting as much from it as you should be, we’re happy to have that conversation and show you how you can get the most from the software.
